6: New Company Owners Want to Know: “Is it Working?”

Business Challenge: After two years of utilizing Resource Associates validated selection testing program for call center employees, new management wanted to know if RA’s testing was increasing the quality of the workforce.
RA Solution: RA partnered with the client to conduct a study on the effectiveness of RA testing. We already had job applicant test scores from the prior two years, but we also needed data from the company on job performance. They provided us with names of those who were actually hired after being tested and data on their first year job performance on several reliable metrics. The company also provided us with the same data on a similar group of employees who had not gone through the Resource Associates’ pre-employment testing program.
Results: A comparison was made between the documented job performance of employees “Pre-RA Testing” (hired without being screened by RA’s tests) and “RA Year 1” “RA Year 2” (hired using RA’s selection assessment. The graph below shows that each month, the employees selected using RA’s assessment process outperformed those selected prior to the program.

Because the testing program produced more capable new hires, the company was saving money by achieving higher performance levels.
